Job Title: Construction and Design Transactions Attorney

Job Summary:

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking an experienced construction and design contracts attorney to join our Real Property practice group. The selected attorney will work on construction and design contract transactional matters, as well as construction and design litigation cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Real Property practice group with construction and design contract transactions and claims work for various clients.
  • Draft and negotiate design and construction contracts with minimal supervision.
  • Have experience with litigation and be familiar with custom and industry-standard construction and design contract forms, including AIA, AGC, and DBIA contract forms.
  • Work with a remote, distributed team and have strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Be able to accommodate West Coast hours and have flexibility to increase hours as needed.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of construction and design contracts and litigation experience in a mid-size or large law firm or in-house setting.
  • Residency and active bar admission in one of the following states: AK, AZ, CA, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MD, MN, MT, NJ, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, VA, WA, and WDC.
  • Strong drafting skills and experience managing construction transactions.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours a week.
  • Flexibility to potentially increase hours as needed.

Compensation:

The hourly compensation range for this position in CA, NY, WA, and WDC is $120 - $160 per hour. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate's education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
