Patient Services Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at West Hawaii Community Health Center. As a key member of our front office staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Greets patients and visitors, checks them in for scheduled and walk-in appointments, and updates patient records as needed.
- Provides general information to patients concerning the functions of our health center and answers phone calls to connect callers to the appropriate offices or staff.
- Schedules and reschedules appointments, verifies patient information, and forwards referrals and lab results as necessary.
- Maintains accurate patient data, prepares patient charts, and verifies insurance eligibility and personal income for self-pay patients.
- Collects payment from patients, posts charges, and generates receipts, while also counseling patients who are unable to pay and referring them to our billing department.
- High school graduate or equivalent and six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
- Basic knowledge of general office procedures, including filing, copying, and faxing.
- Ability to use a computer to enter patient data and retrieve information to generate reports and payment receipts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
