Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Architect, licensed in California, to enhance our dynamic team. Candidates with licenses from other states are welcome, provided they commit to obtaining a California license within two years of employment.

As a Licensed Architect, your role will involve overseeing the design and execution of projects, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance with applicable regulations. Your expertise will be crucial in fulfilling our clients' visions while advancing the principles of design, sustainability, and functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and refine design concepts that align with client expectations and project goals.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Review and assess architectural drawings and specifications for accuracy, functionality, and compliance with project timelines, budgets, and building codes.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress, address design challenges, and ensure alignment with architectural plans.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices to contribute innovative ideas to the team.
  • Engage with clients to present design concepts, gather feedback, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project efforts, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and consultants to facilitate seamless execution.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in industry-standard design and drafting software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Valid architect license is required; candidates licensed outside California must commit to obtaining a California license within two years.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture from an accredited institution, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects and design excellence.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant architectural experience, including leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of California's construction laws, regulations, and permitting processes.
  • Experience in designing government, educational, cultural, and community facilities is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, facilitating effective collaboration with clients and team members.
  • LEED Certification or other sustainable design credentials are advantageous.
  • Experience with the Division of State Architects (DSA) is highly desirable.
