Key Responsibilities:

  1. Examine import and export documentation to verify the precision of customs declaration forms and ensure efficient customs clearance procedures.
  2. Oversee the entire customs clearance process for imported and exported goods, proactively resolving any issues that may arise to improve customs declaration efficiency.
  3. Guarantee the timely return and appropriate storage of customs declaration documents in line with regulatory requirements.
  4. Administer various permits necessary for customs clearance, ensure adherence to certificate usage regulations, and prepare monthly reports and data statistics as required.
  5. Leverage expertise to calculate tariffs and duties, including HMF and MPF, for intricate solar products with complex HTS codes.
  6. Recognize and manage risk control points associated with L/C presentation to facilitate seamless document processing.
  7. Carefully monitor the movement of bonded materials and finished goods to avert misuse and loss.
  8. Ensure that imports meet relevant regulations, identify opportunities for process enhancements, and collaborate with the team to reduce compliance risks.
  9. Act as a subject matter expert on Country-of-Origin determination, HTS code classification, and Free Trade Agreement analysis.
  10. Ensure adherence to all CTPAT-related initiatives for Trina Solar.
  11. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for service providers and generate performance reports.
  12. Identify continuous improvement opportunities in systems, processes, and procedures to boost efficiency and lower costs.
  13. Work collaboratively across global and regional teams to meet import trade compliance objectives.
  14. Conduct regular analytical reviews of internal team processes and data to maintain efficiency and accuracy, updating desktop procedures as necessary.
  15. Perform post-entry audits in accordance with established compliance standards.
  16. Execute additional tasks as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications:

  1. Hold an Associate Degree or higher.
  2. Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in customs-related positions, with a comprehensive understanding of import and export operations and processing trade procedures.
  3. Have experience collaborating with various government agencies such as CBP, EPA, FDA, and USDA.
  4. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  5. Prior experience in clearing machine components and valve products is preferred.
  6. Exhibit exceptional organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  7. Ability to excel in a team-oriented environment, manage multiple priorities simultaneously, and meet deadlines effectively.
  8. Knowledge of the Chinese language is a plus, but not mandatory.
