Job Title: Area Manager
Job Summary:
Barracudas Activity Day Camps is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Manager to join our team. As an Area Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our holiday camps, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the induction training and setup of camps, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Monitor registration, collection, and activities on camp, including swimming if applicable.
- Provide feedback and guidance to staff on their performance and areas for improvement.
- Conduct audits and provide support to camps that require improvement.
- Assist the Senior Team during OFSTED inspections and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
- Complete paperwork and high-risk activities in accordance with Barracudas Activity Codes of Practice.
- Enforce Health and Safety regulations and ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
- Update and communicate overviews of assigned camps to Central Office and other Area Managers.
- Monitor equipment usage and ensure it is being used correctly.
- Cover senior absence and perform ad hoc responsibilities as required.
- Oversee petty cash and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Organize staff briefings and ensure effective communication among the team.
- Ensure site and Baserooms are kept tidy and equipment is packed away.
- Assess and review staff performance throughout the season and complete evaluations.
Requirements:
- Attend compulsory Senior Training events.
- Have experience in childcare settings, holiday camps, and/or leading a team.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Provide satisfactory professional/academic references.
- Attend and deliver Induction Training Day(s).
- Complete Online Training annually.
- Coordinate pack-up at the end of camp.
- Barracudas aims for a minimum of 1/2 seniors to be Paediatric First Aid trained.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Fulfill Health and Safety obligations by following procedures and safe systems.
- Be proactive and diligent when approaching safety issues.
- Prepare for Induction training using relevant manuals.
- Maintain ultimate responsibility for all Health and Safety on camp.
- Complete a staff evaluation for each member of staff at the end of their contract.
- Report Child Protection concerns to a Designated Person at Central Office.
- Ensure staff are aware of any children who have additional, medical, or dietary needs.
- Ensure necessary medication is administered correctly following EI forms and complete appropriate documentation.
- Bring swimwear daily as may be required to support a swimming session.
