We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to lead our Potbelly shop team. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Development: Train, coach, and develop all shop team members to realize their potential and achieve their career goals.
  • Staff Management: Assess staff abilities, create and implement effective development plans, and interview, select, and hire great people who represent Potbelly Values.
  • Shop Operations: Effectively schedule Associates, Certified Trainers, and Shift Leaders, update communication boards, and hold regular meetings with key shop staff.
  • Marketing and Sales: Develop and maintain a Good Vibes culture that fosters strong attraction and retention, drive neighborhood shop marketing and promotions to maximize sales potential, and control cost of goods, variances, and inventories within the shop.
  • Customer Service: Ensure all security procedures are followed, maintain high standards of execution, and effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a General Manager in a restaurant or retail environment with P&L responsibility.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and develop strong teams and handle conflict resolution.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and interpret financial reports and make informed business decisions.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand/walk for 8-9 hours or as needed, lift up to 10 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
