Location:

Employee Type:
Regular

Position Summary

The Division of Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant at Phoenix Children's Hospital is seeking a dedicated, board-certified or board-eligible pediatric hematologist/oncologist to join our dynamic and expanding team as an attending physician in the Neuro-Oncology Section.

Key responsibilities encompass clinical care, educational duties, and involvement in clinical or clinical-translational research. The selected candidate will play a vital role as an interactive member of our division and the Neuro-Oncology section.

While the primary focus of this section is on central nervous system tumors, our team also manages patients with hematological malignancies and occasionally benign blood disorders in both inpatient and outpatient environments.

Our physicians are responsible for supervising pediatric residents and fellows in various settings and actively contribute to the clinical education of medical students and other trainees.

Our staff engages in clinical and laboratory research as well as educational initiatives. Academic affiliations are established with the University of Arizona-College of Medicine Phoenix, Mayo Clinic Arizona, and Creighton University.

About Our Center and Neuro-Oncology Section

The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD) at Phoenix Children's Hospital serves as a prominent referral center for pediatric oncology in the Southwest, managing approximately 370 new oncology cases annually.

We maintain active clinical and laboratory research programs in oncology, neuro-oncology, survivorship, hemophilia, and investigational drug development.

CCBD is a member of various organizations, offering consortium trials, phase I and II industry-sponsored studies, and investigator-initiated trials. Our ACGME accredited fellowship program in pediatric hematology/oncology accommodates three fellows per year, along with a one-year specialty fellowship in Bone Marrow Transplant.

The Neuro-Oncology Section evaluates around 90 new patients each year. Our physicians collaborate closely with neurosurgeons and radiation oncologists to provide comprehensive care.

Our Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation department offers multidisciplinary care for patients facing challenges related to brain tumors. We also have a specialized pediatric neuropathologist with expertise in molecular techniques.

We engage in collaborative research with investigators from the University of Arizona and TGen, and we conduct a weekly multidisciplinary tumor board to discuss management strategies for children with CNS tumors.

The staff physician will deliver patient care services and support the mission of Phoenix Children's Hospital, which is to provide hope, healing, and exceptional healthcare for children and their families.
