Job DescriptionWe are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Instrumentation Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the proper cleaning, sterilization, and preparation of surgical instruments and medical equipment to maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
The Medical Instrumentation Specialist will be responsible for:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established protocols and infection control standards.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, and ensure proper functioning.
- Perform testing on sterilization equipment and ensure all procedures meet regulatory standards.
The selected candidate will also be responsible for:
- Tracking and managing the inventory of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment.
- Ensuring the proper storage and organization of sterile items to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Replenishing supplies as needed and monitoring expiration dates for sterility.
The successful candidate will maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, equipment inspections, and inventory levels, and document sterilization and cleaning procedures to ensure compliance with facility policies and safety guidelines.
RequirementsTo be considered for this role, applicants must possess the following qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).
- Certification as a Sterile Processing Technician (e.g., CSPDT, CRCST) preferred.
- Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control practices, and safety protocols.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain focus on quality.
Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of experience in sterile processing or a healthcare-related setting, familiarity with sterilization equipment and techniques, and experience with inventory management and documentation systems.
