About the Program

Beacon programs are community hubs that serve children aged six and above, as well as adults. These centers operate in the afternoons, evenings, weekends, school holidays, vacations, and summers across all five boroughs of New York City. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Instructors to deliver engaging lesson plans encompassing sports/recreation, arts, dance, and STEM subjects.
  • Supervise activities and provide homework assistance to participants.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment where all individuals feel respected and supported.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance records.
  • Handle administrative tasks as needed.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure the learning environment is clean, secure, and well-prepared for each session.
  • Implement effective classroom management techniques to create a positive learning atmosphere.
