We are seeking a highly experienced Industrial Safety Specialist II to join our team at Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc.
This position will provide critical support to our senior management team and contribute to the development and implementation of effective solutions for our government clients.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial safety and hygiene, with experience in developing, implementing, and enforcing ISMS programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight of the WIPP prime contractor's ISMS program
- Support the development of the DOE ISMS Declaration report
- Assist in ISMS improvement planning activities
- Review, comment, and recommend revisions to the contractor ISMS Report and program plan
- Provide technical support to senior management and anticipate informational needs
- Perform issue follow-up and closeout of ICE and DevonWay issues
- Initiate Stop Work Actions and support the issuance of Stop Work Orders
- Participate in selected one-time teams/events such as operational readiness review teams, and investigative teams
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in a physical science, engineering, or technical discipline, or a related field
- 15 years of experience in industrial safety or industrial hygiene, or 20 years of demonstrated knowledge and specialized industrial safety or industrial hygiene experience
- Certified industrial hygienist (CIH) credentials and/or certified safety professional (CSP) credentials are preferred
