About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our Camera & Photos team, you will be responsible for developing privacy-respecting machine learning technologies to deliver exceptional experiences to hundreds of millions of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop machine learning and deep learning algorithms for Photos features
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning technologies into our software and hardware
  • Optimize machine learning models for inference speed and efficiency
  • Work with large language models (LLMs) and parameter efficient fine tuning of LLMs
  • Develop and maintain high-quality software using robust applied software methodology, process, and quality skills
Requirements
  • 5+ years of industry experience building machine learning and deep learning based software applications
  • Strong machine learning and deep learning fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and parameter efficient fine tuning of LLMs
  • Solid understanding of inference speed up techniques such as speculative decoding and optimization of LLMs for human preferences
  • Proficiency with deep learning toolkits such as PyTorch
  • Exceptional problem-solving and interpersonal skills
  • Robust applied software methodology, process, and quality skills to take an ML algorithm from a prototype to a final production quality deployment
