Senior Machine Learning Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our Contextual Understanding Team at Apple Inc. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying cutting-edge machine learning models that power Siri and other on-device intelligence features.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement scalable synthetic data generation pipelines to support machine learning model training
- Fine-tune large language models to solve complex tasks in the space of UI understanding and contextual intelligence
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate machine learning models into our on-device intelligence platform
- Develop and maintain high-quality, robust, and scalable infrastructure for deep learning data, modeling, and evaluation systems
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI research, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in our products
- M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of industry experience developing, training, and fine-tuning machine learning models offline using Python, with a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, frameworks (e.g. Pytorch, Scikit-learn), and data preprocessing techniques
- Demonstrated experience applying generative AI techniques to solve complex problems, with a strong understanding of the underlying technologies
- Proven ability to train and debug deep learning systems: building datasets, training models, defining metrics, and performing error analysis
- Strong software engineering skills in Python to build scalable and robust infrastructure for deep learning data, modeling, and evaluation systems
- Familiarity with compiled languages like Swift or Objective-C
- Experience in resource-constrained computing environments, such as embedded systems or mobile development
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts
