Director of Engineering

Group14 Technologies is seeking a highly skilled Director of Engineering to lead our process development and engineering teams. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving process and equipment improvements, directing capital projects, and ensuring safe design and operation of our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive process and equipment improvements for Group14 battery materials manufacturing
• Direct process development and engineering teams
• Direct all aspects of capital projects associated with process development
• Exercise process safety fundamentals to ensure safe design and mentor newer engineers
• Support project engineers in the execution and delivery of projects
• Lead the down selection process of new equipment vendors and manage vendor relationships
• Interphase with the IP team on generation and documentation of process-related intellectual property
• Work with the R&D and Product teams to develop solutions to problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality, and process safety
• Support construction management efforts at Group14 HQ and create systems that can be implemented across production sites

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• 10+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or pilot development environment
• Experience in engineering leadership (5+ years)
• Capital projects management ($5 million)
• Technology transfer leadership experience in an industrial setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with managing government contracts and grants
• Experience leading teams in development and implementation of novel materials or products manufacturing at scale
• Experience in bulk solids handling and/or thermal processing equipment
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) or Risk Management Program (RMP) covered facilities
• Experience with construction management
