Director of Engineering

Group14 Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Engineering to lead our engineering team in driving process and equipment improvements for our battery materials manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive process and equipment improvements to optimize production efficiencies, reduce CAPEX, and enhance environmental stewardship.
• Direct process development and engineering teams to develop and implement new processes and technologies.
• Lead capital projects associated with process development, ensuring safe design and implementation.
• Exercise process safety fundamentals to ensure safe design and mentor newer engineers on safe design principles.
• Support project engineers in the execution and delivery of projects.
• Lead the down selection process of new equipment vendors, manage vendor relationships, and negotiate new vendor contracts.
• Interphase with the IP team on generation and documentation of process-related intellectual property.
• Work with the R&D and Product teams to develop solutions to problems and improve production throughput, cost, product quality, and process safety.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or pilot development environment.
• Experience in engineering leadership (5+ years).
• Capital projects management ($5 million).
• Technology transfer leadership experience in an industrial setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with managing government contracts and grants.
• Experience leading teams in development and implementation of novel materials or products manufacturing at scale.
• Experience in bulk solids handling and/or thermal processing equipment.
• Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) or Risk Management Program (RMP) covered facilities.
• Experience with construction management.

What We Offer:

• Annual base salary range: $150,000 - $220,000.
