Job Overview

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm systems in various locations. Your expertise will ensure the safety and compliance of our clients' fire protection systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, test, and maintain fire alarm systems, including detection devices, control panels, and notification appliances.
  • Conduct routine inspections and servicing of fire alarm systems to ensure they meet Local, State, and Federal Codes and Regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions, making necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by educating clients on system operation and maintenance.
  • Create and keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and service work performed.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices related to fire alarm systems.
  • Maintain personal industry license(s)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in fire protection or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a fire alarm technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, codes, and regulations (e.g., NFPA standards).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., NICET certification) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
