We are seeking an experienced Export Control Specialist to join our team at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and issuing technical determinations, compliance rulings, and managing lifecycle licensing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Export Control Analysis: Evaluate technologies, item classification, jurisdiction, end use, and end users to issue export control determinations.
- Compliance Support: Assist Principal Investigators in assessing technology and navigating export control requirements.
- Regulatory Review: Review the interpretation of applicable export control laws and regulations and the associated export control requirements of primary government agencies.
- Compliance Decision-Making: Issue compliance decisions and direct export control activities as required.
- Education: B.S. in International Relations, Business Law, International Trade, or a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum of two years' direct experience in export controls. More years of similar experience in compliance, engineering, or other technical fields as it relates to export control would be considered.
- Technical Background: Education or experience in a technical field such as engineering, chemistry, physics, or computational sciences.
- Advanced Degree: An advanced degree and additional years of experience would be considered a plus.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate well in writing and orally, including preparation and delivery of compliance requirements, presentations, and training sessions.
- Q Clearance: This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy.
