Job Summary

The Property Custodian is a critical role that supports the Accountable Property Officer at the organizational level. This position requires a high level of expertise in managing individual user accounts, conducting inventories, and facilitating organization's property administration requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and account for assigned property using the DPAS or Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) in accordance with DoDI 5000.64.
  • Conduct regular inventories and ensure a safe and clean environment for the supported organization.
  • Coordinate facility maintenance and convert organizational facility maintenance service requests to work orders within the facility work order system.
  • Perform logistics and supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures.
  • Reconstruct records for complex supply transactions and provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts.
Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret clearance.
  • Three (3) years of experience using the DPAS or Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) at the Property Custodian level or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years' experience in supply management and property accountability.
  • Must have an intermediate to advanced working knowledge of spreadsheet and chart applications (Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint experience is preferred).
  • Should have the ability to work within Defense Property Accounting System (DPAS) and also Information Technology Service Management system (ITSM) – Remedy.
Desired Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent preferably with a major in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • DPAS certified or complete DPAS training within ten business days of assignment/onboarding.
  • Three (3) years of experience using the DPAS or Accountable Property System of Record (APSR) at the Property Custodian level or equivalent.
