Job Title: Automatic Bar & Chucking
Shift: 2nd, Monday – Friday, 3pm – 11pm
Purpose of Position:
The successful candidate will operate automatic bar & chucking machines to produce finished bodies, working under the supervision of the Supervisor - Manufacturing or their designee. Daily assignments will be made, and results will be reviewed daily or as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety: Perform preflight checks for individual machines and work areas, and conduct safety inspections as required.
- Production:
- Operate chucker(s) at optimal levels to meet or exceed daily production rates.
- Inspect machined tools visually and with gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Recognize, change, and replace worn tooling, and make adjustments as needed.
- Prepare for and assist the Set-up person in machine changeover.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance procedures.
- Work as a fill-in for machine operators as needed.
- Quality: Inspect parts to meet established ISO requirements.
- Delivery: Process shop orders to meet established due dates.
- Inventory: Manage WIP and components, including carbide inserts, drills, tool holders, etc.
- Lean: Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties.
- TPM: Perform daily required TPM on chucker(s) and associated equipment.
- 5S: Perform daily required 5S activities for chucker(s) and work area.
- Metrics: Gather and post established metrics daily.
- Data: Accurately and timely record required data, including production and quality metrics.
General:
The duties listed are not exhaustive, and the incumbent may be required to perform other duties as needed. The position requires adherence to all plant safety rules and applicable Federal Regulations as set forth in the Occupational Safety and Health Act. Employees in this role may be exposed to hazardous materials and have been instructed in proper safe handling and disposal procedures.
