Bristol Regional Medical Center seeks a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to provide exceptional care to our patients.

About the Role:

The Patient Care Assistant will work closely with our nursing team to deliver high-quality patient care, focusing on activities of daily living, such as bathing, toileting, eating, dressing, and grooming. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and transferring residents from bed to chair, chair to bed, and turning and repositioning of patients while in bed.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition, including pressure areas and skin breakdown, to ensure prompt intervention.
  • Measure and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, respirations, and temperature, and notify the RN if values are outside normal limits.
  • Perform basic computer skills for documentation of care and procedures performed.
  • Assist with clerical functions within the unit, including answering phones, inputting orders into the computer, and supply ordering.
  • Perform other duties as deemed necessary and appropriate or as directed by the leader/manager.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification required; three years of experience in a hospital or medical setting preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Tennessee or Virginia is mandatory.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required for direct patient care providers.

Working Conditions:

  • This is a part-time position with rotating weekend shifts and no travel requirements.

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $28,000-$35,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
