Norman Regional Health System is seeking a skilled Clinical Dietitian to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in patient care, ensuring they receive the best possible nutrition support.

Job Summary:
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments of patients' nutritional needs
  • Provide ongoing reassessment and follow-up care to optimize patient outcomes
  • Offer education services to patients and staff on proper nutrition and dietary management
Responsibilities:

This position involves applying specialized knowledge in nutrition to improve patient results across various subspecialties. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing effective nutrition plans tailored to individual patients' requirements
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintaining current knowledge of advancements in nutrition and adhering to certification requirements
  • Other duties as required to contribute to the success of the healthcare team
Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will need:

Required qualifications include:

  • A degree from an Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics-approved program leading to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN)
  • Basic knowledge of subspecialty areas, including nutrition support, diabetes, cardiology, renal, oncology, etc.
  • Ongoing continuing education credits to stay updated on new findings and research

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility can be beneficial for this role.

Licensure/Certification:

You must:

  • Register with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics within the first six months of employment
  • Obtain an Oklahoma State Dietitian license within the same timeframe
  • Acquire a food handler's permit from the Cleveland County Health department before or shortly after hiring
Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

This position requires:

  • The ability to make informed decisions quickly and prioritize patient care effectively
  • Forethought to recognize potential risks and take necessary precautions
  • Knowledge of different formulas for assessing patients' nutritional needs
