Cardiac Recovery Travel Nurse

- Sentara Healthcare is currently seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Procedural Recovery and Short Stay Unit. This role is designed for a Temporary Full-Time Night Shift Traveler. Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of recent acute care hospital experience to be eligible.
- Compensation includes a competitive hourly rate of $75, along with a potential $5000 Sign-On Bonus for those residing more than 50 miles from the facility. Ideal applicants will have over two years of cardiac nursing experience. If the candidate lacks experience with line pulls, arrangements can be made for an RN to perform that task prior to the traveler assuming patient care. ACLS and BLS certifications are required, along with the ability to read telemetry confidently. Patients are monitored by the nursing staff rather than central telemetry.
Department Details:
The Short Stay Unit operates with 6-8 beds and is available 24/7.
We focus on admitting and preparing patients for various cardiac procedures, including Cardiac Catheterizations (both interventional and diagnostic), Electrophysiology procedures such as cardiac ablations, Cardioversions, surgeries, and the management of ICDs/Pacemakers. Additionally, we provide care for patients post-procedure who require overnight observation before discharge the following day.
The cardiac short stay unit is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care until discharge or further admission for observation.
Ideal candidates will have cardiac experience and the capability to independently interpret telemetry readings.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 3:1 during weekdays and 4:1 on weekends.
