Job Summary
The Recovery Specialist is a critical member of our treatment team, responsible for ensuring the safety and structure of our program milieu. This role involves monitoring client activities, participating in treatment services, and observing and supervising clients on the unit and off.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and structure of the program milieu by monitoring client activities.
- Observe and supervise clients and unit; conduct 30-minute client well-being checks.
- Search client belongings on admission and at discharge, or as otherwise directed by supervisor.
- Complete all necessary checklists, shift documentation, and record keeping in a timely manner in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and therapeutic approach when interacting with clients.
- Participate with staff to implement program objectives and philosophy.
- Facilitate and document daily groups.
- Attend supervision, trainings, and meetings as required.
- Obtain/Assess vital signs (Blood Pressure, Heart Rate, Respirations, Temperatures).
- Other duties as instructed by supervisor or as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or higher educational level or general education degree (GED).
- Experience working with substance use population is preferred.
- Ability to display initiative, responsibility, accountability, and professionalism.
- Demonstrates commitment working with an addicted population, enjoys working as part of a treatment team.
