Responsibilities:

  • Introduce new kanbans and improve the kanban system for manufacturing.
  • Assure manufacturing areas within the plant are properly utilizing the latest revision level of the kanban spreadsheet.
  • Collaborate with other manufacturing groups as well as purchasing to improve material flow by optimizing inventory levels controlled through kanbans.
  • Provide general lean manufacturing support as required to improve manufacturing and office processes as directed by the Plant PIC Leader.
  • Conduct cycle count inventory process to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Monitor over-picks & mis-picks and looking for trends in this area.
  • Schedule categories for cycle count inventory and maintain strict records.
  • Oversee and evaluate stock rotation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma along with three to five years experience of materials management in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience in a lean manufacturing environment that utilizes pull systems and/or kanbans is desired.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Baan, and Mapper are preferred.
  • Must demonstrate good communication and organizational skills.
