Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Professor to join our faculty in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at UTMB Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining courses, advising students, and conducting scholarly activities, clinical practice, and service to the University, School, and Department.

Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and maintain courses, including online and face-to-face courses, as assigned.
  • Advise students and provide guidance on academic and professional matters.
  • Conduct scholarly activities, clinical practice, and participate in services to the University, School, and Department.
Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a licensed Physical Therapist in the U.S. and be eligible for licensure in Texas. Additionally, they must have a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in neurology, neuroscience, assistive technology, or health systems and ethics within a Physical Therapy education program.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in teaching and learning in online environments is a plus. An academic doctorate (PhD, EdD, DSc, etc.) in a field related to Physical Therapy is also preferred. Residency or fellowship training in Clinical Neurology is highly valued.
