Job Summary

As a Senior Construction Accountant at Spruce Grove, Inc., you will be responsible for managing all development and tenant improvement activities. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Record accounting and job cost entries for all ongoing jobs and TI in accordance with GAAP under the Percentage of Completion method.

Ensure work-in-process report ties to General Ledger and reconciliation for specific asset and liability accounts.

Calculate costs and estimated earnings in excess of billings or vice versa to ensure accurate balance sheet presentation.

Ensure the financial integrity of project reporting through analysis of weekly and monthly job cost reports from Yardi.

Enter bi-weekly payroll in Yardi to ensure proper general ledger and job cost coding for accounting and reporting purposes.

Produce monthly financial statement package, loan draw package, and capital call letters.

Ensure internal control processes and compliance in Accounts Payable for all jobs. Manage vendor and subcontractor compliance with insurance, lien waivers, change orders, retention and W-9s to mitigate project risk.

Prepare monthly development fees and other project reimbursements.

Assist in corporate and entity annual budgets and audits. Input job cost budgets in Yardi and make adjustments per the Director's request.

Assist in software integration related to Job Cost.

Assist with special projects including preparation of ad hoc reports.

Proactively researches and documents conclusions on accounting issues.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting.

5 - 10 years prior experience in the construction industry or real estate industry.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Yardi Job Cost and Construction Manager experience a plus.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.

Proven ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and work accurately with a high degree of attention to detail.

Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others within the organization.

Compensation

$85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
