Main Function:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Arnot Health, you will be responsible for performing all Nuclear Medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at our facilities and physician offices. You will work closely with our team to ensure the highest level of patient care and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology procedures, including quality control of equipment, reviewing physician orders, preparing patients, and interacting with various computer systems.
  2. Prepare radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures, including scheduling patients, ordering unit doses, and managing bulk Tc99m.
  3. Manage radioactive materials and waste in accordance with departmental, Arnot Health, and New York State regulations.
  4. Perform therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures, including working with referring offices, ensuring pre-testing and paperwork, and coordinating patient needs with Radiologists and department schedules.
  5. Perform mobile Nuclear Cardiology exams at various Arnot Health physician offices, including driving a large van, setting up mobile gamma cameras, and working independently with patients and healthcare professionals.
Requirements:
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT.
  • Formal degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
  • Eligibility for New York State licensure in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Valid driver's license and insurability by Arnot Health.
Experience:

One year of experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Requirements:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire date.

Physical Demands:

Some physical effort required, able to exert up to 100 lbs of force to move objects. Work requires some bending, reaching, lifting, and moving patients.

Category I. Tasks that involve exposure to blood and body fluid or tissue.
