Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Arnot Health

Main Function:

As a key member of the Arnot Health team, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will be responsible for performing all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in Nuclear Medicine, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology procedures, including quality control of equipment, reviewing physician orders, patient preparation, injection of radiopharmaceuticals, patient positioning, and image processing.
  • Prepare radiopharmaceutical dosages, schedule patients, order unit doses, and manage bulk Tc99m.
  • Manage radioactive materials, storage, and waste in accordance with regulations.
  • Execute therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures, working with referring offices, coordinating patient needs, and following safety regulations.
  • Conduct mobile Nuclear Cardiology exams at various locations, driving a van, setting up equipment, and working with medical personnel.
  • Provide age-appropriate care to patients of all ages.
  • Attend educational programs, maintain certifications, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Perform tasks as requested for accreditation and compliance.

Requirements:

Current certification or eligibility in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT. Preferably a formal 2 or 4-year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Must be eligible for New York State licensure and possess a valid driver's license.

Experience:

One year of experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.

CPR Requirements:

Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

Physical Demands:

Requires physical effort, ability to exert force, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving patients.

Exposure Category:

Category I. Tasks involving exposure to blood and body fluids.
