Die Maintenance Technician

This position is responsible for performing extensive die maintenance on all types of dies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of die maintenance principles and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to shop floor calls and assist with equipment problems, quality issues, and safety issues associated with presses and dies.
- Review and prioritize die maintenance lists.
- Organize and carry out preventative maintenance on all dies.
- Utilize knowledge of machine and production requirements to select machine tooling.
- Introduce improvements and cost reductions to improve dies and stamping.
- Fabricate tools and other equipment as assigned by the Stamping Manager.
- Observe machine operations to detect any problems and make necessary adjustments.
- Perform both TIG and MIG welding.
- Arrange and schedule outsource modification for coating and repair.
- Oversee purchases of all necessary equipment or parts for repair.
- Collaborate with other die maintenance associates to allocate jobs for repair and maintenance.
- Perform polishing and grinding work as necessary.
- Notify the Stamping Manager of any critical die issues.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Crane Operator License preferred.
The work environment is a manufacturing environment with normal working conditions. The employee will be required to wear a company-provided uniform and use safety equipment, including eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed work boots, and either a hard hat or a bump cap.
