Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled CDL Class A driver to join our team at Divert's Bakersfield location. As a driver, you will be responsible for all CDL driving needs, including daily tasks and leadership responsibilities. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires a clear mind and diligence.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CDL Class A driving duties for the company, adhering to all DOT, FMCSA regulations, and in-house rules.
  • Complete daily truck logs via Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to record mileage and report any issues.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections via ELD and/or DVIR, reporting any problems or damage to management.
  • Adequately perform all physical functions necessary for a truck driver, ensuring safe transportation of trailer loads/cargo.
  • Install tire chains as necessary, following DOT or state requirements.
  • Complete trailer swaps to optimize business operations.
  • Communicate daily with Divert Logistics and Operations team members to ensure alignment and prevent business disruption.
  • Retrieve and turn in necessary paperwork to the proper team members/Customer at the given Origin/Destination.
  • Fuel tractors as needed, using the Fuel Card supplied by the company.
  • Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately.
  • Manage routes and routines for efficient operation.

Requirements

  • Class A CDL required
  • Minimum of 2 years Experience in a driver position required
  • Dump Experience – End dump, side dumps, dump trucks preferred
  • Trailer (dry van) hauling experience required
  • Tanker experience and endorsement required
  • Double trailers experience and endorsement required
  • Willing to perform multiple hauls/routes depending on business needs
  • Willing to perform duties occasionally outside of driving work – example using a forklift
  • Familiar and comfortable with Slip Seating
