Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Trailer Technician to join our team at Dallas Trailer Repair Co. As a Trailer Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all trailers and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and diagnose trailers and related equipment for mechanical issues and faulty parts.
  • Perform requested repairs according to industry standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on trailers and related equipment.
  • Perform trailer body work and under-carriage repairs.
  • Problem solve and document action plans for all repairs.
  • Ensure a safe and organized workspace.
  • Follow all health and safety rules and guidelines.

Requirements

  • ASE certifications highly desired but not required.
  • 1-2 years of mechanical or equivalent experience.
  • Able to pass pre-employment knowledge/skill test.
  • Proven mechanical acuity and basic math skills.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Able to pass 10-year background check and drug test/medical physical exam.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a shop, both indoors and outdoors, and is subject to various environmental conditions, including weather, temperature changes, and exposure to chemicals.

Physical Demands

  • Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 50lbs of force frequently or up to 20lbs of force constantly.
  • Walking/Standing for sustained periods of time.
  • Climbing, Stooping/Crouching, Balancing, Kneeling/Crawling, Whole Hand/Fingers, Repetitive Motion, Talking, Hearing, Vision.

Required Tools

Tools vary by technician classification, but may include basic wrench sets, socket sets, vice grips, channel locks, impact guns, screwdriver sets, and safety equipment.
