Job Description

The Field Engineer provides critical support to the Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Superintendent. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with foremen and superintendents to ensure work plans are tracked and analyzed to maximize efficiency in field operations.
  • Developing, maintaining, and reporting daily quantities installed and performed.
  • Analyzing and comparing budgeted vs actual production rates and yield in materials.
  • Performing quantity take-offs from plans and contrasting weekly field quantities and plan quantities.
  • Assisting in the development of Work Activity Plans.
  • Providing monthly quantity reports for verification of owner quantities and monthly billing.
  • Ensuring field work is constructed within project standards and specifications.
  • Supporting project engineers and superintendents as required.
  • Maintaining and organizing Plan Drawings, Revisions, and As-Builts.
  • Assisting in maintaining all Project Logs.
  • Assessing, comparing, and monitoring quantities ordered with materials budgeted.
  • Maintaining the Notevault Diary and providing schedule updates to the Project Engineer.
  • Initiating, driving, and controlling Field Operations Reports.
  • Developing Look Ahead Schedules with the project superintendent.
  • Presenting information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations, including managers and employees.
  • Reading and interpreting documents such as safety rules, Operating and Maintenance Instructions, Procedure Manuals, Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Civil Engineering, with moderate to high proficiency in operating Primavera 3 and 6, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to multitask, and have a passion for construction and a job well done.
