The Aerospace Mechanical Engineer will contribute to the development of innovative designs for secondary structures, cabin interiors, cockpit instrument panels, Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) installations, and various other mechanical systems in accordance with client requirements, operating with a degree of autonomy.

Utilize analytical capabilities, with a strong emphasis on precision, to acquire and apply effective design methodologies. This encompasses mastering the planning, scheduling, rectification, and documentation of designs, ultimately leading to independent design execution. Responsibilities are carried out while fostering consistent communication with the team in a collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, structural, and wiring principles.
• Continuously investigate and identify suitable references for design methodologies.
• Analyze client specifications to ascertain project scope.
• Create detailed interior, mechanical, and structural drawings in alignment with client specifications.

• Ensure that installation design data adheres to relevant regulations and is eligible for aircraft approval.
• Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation to secure design approval through both Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and Modification processes.
• Formulate testing protocols to assess new mechanical system designs.
• Lead small-scale design initiatives.
• Utilize CAD software for drafting - both 2D and 3D, with a preference for Catia V5.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Aid in resolving production-related challenges.
• May be required to support mechanical and structural tasks at various locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related engineering discipline. Relevant educational experience from an accredited institution may substitute for years of professional experience (1 year of education = 2 years of experience).
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in corporate aviation.
• Proficient in CATIA V5, Solidworks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
• Strong organizational and planning capabilities.

• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Ability to work in and around aircraft, which may involve stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders or scaffolds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Familiarity with mechanical, structural, and static design principles and methodologies.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience in drafting.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations, specifically FAR Part 25.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
• Must be capable of working at a desk and using a computer for a significant portion of the day.
• Willingness to travel by air on occasion.
