Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Laboratory Advisor to join our team. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a laboratory setting that handles clinical specimens, environmental samples, or operates within blood or tissue banks.
A Master's degree in a relevant field may substitute for one year of experience, while a Doctoral degree can replace two years of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of clinical laboratory testing, quality assurance protocols, and relevant state regulations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently are essential, as are excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Willingness to travel to various laboratories, both within and outside the state, is a requirement, as the role involves inspecting facilities that accept specimens originating from our jurisdiction.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Clinical Laboratory Advisor, you will be responsible for:
- Conducting thorough inspections of clinical laboratories, blood banks, and specialized testing facilities.
- Evaluating laboratory staff qualifications and testing procedures.
- Reviewing standard operating procedure manuals and laboratory records.
- Documenting findings in detailed reports and narratives.
- Communicating results and recommendations to laboratory directors and technical staff.
- Assessing proposed remediation plans and determining their adequacy.
Additional Information:
This position may involve exposure to hazardous materials, and appropriate safety measures, including personal protective equipment, will be required. Candidates may also undergo health evaluations and receive necessary immunizations.
