Job Summary

This position is for an Electrical Engineer who will prepare designs for electrical systems for various projects. The successful candidate must have good organizational and teamwork skills, established problem-solving abilities, a can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering design for electrical systems and equipment for the entire facility in preparation for procurement and construction.
  • Have an understanding of all engineering discipline drawings and electrical discipline wiring diagrams, system descriptions, schematics, electrical equipment layout, and perform cable sizing calculations.
  • Perform special tasks and calculations/studies, and conduct checking as required.
  • Properly interpret and apply codes & standards and customer design requirements for applicability to electrical design documents, specifications, material requisitions, and system descriptions related to design tasks.
  • Be a self-starter and capable of independent creative design, with direction, using Bechtel and industry-established concepts and procedures.
  • Work well with others, other disciplines, and groups, and effectively communicate and work well with others and within a team.
Requirements
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university, with 1-2 years of related electrical engineering experience.
  • US citizenship is required.
  • This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Experience with SETROUTE program and be able to input and complete corrections to the database.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel corporate guides and standards.
  • Experience in facility construction, start-up, and maintenance practices.
  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
