Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Satellite Communications / Medium Data Rate Hub Administrator to join our team at Apex Systems. This is a unique opportunity to work with a world-class IT services company that values innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and maintenance of telecommunications transmission media systems, services, and network architecture for the Medium Data Rate Satellite Architecture Network and Medium Data Rate Terminal (MDRT) systems.
  • Plan, configure, operate, maintain, and document related to MDRT architecture, network, and systems and associated equipment.
  • Establish connections through created option files issued upon submittal of satellite access request (SAR) and gateway access request (GAR); perform network connectivity monitoring, system failure management, and routine support.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain network services to include highly specialized and unique worldwide networks in support of high visibility customers.
  • Monitor, track, report, and restore IT networks involving iDirect communications hardware and software, stand-alone data systems, and video hardware and software systems designed for use on satellite and fiber optic networks.
Requirements
  • MDRT Architecture and Systems experience.
  • DOD 8570 compliant (e.g. Sec+ ) required.
  • Experience with MDRT, i-direct, or tactical SHF systems.
  • Able to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Competent to work at a technical level on all phases of systems administration activities.
  • Excellent communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills, and follow-through.
  • Anticipates questions and is prepared with answers.
  • Intermediate understanding of Windows Server/Client administration.
  • Must be a consummate professional in both demeanor and attire.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Intermediate knowledge of SATCOM and SHF transmission systems.
  • Intermediate understanding of networking and ability to troubleshoot.
  • Detail-oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work.
  • Requires shift work.
Desired Qualifications
  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience.
