Position Summary
The Lead Baker plays a crucial role in upholding the standards set by the Pastry Chef and Executive Chef in the crafting and presentation of baked delicacies. This includes ensuring product specifications are met and maintaining a clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities
The essential duties encompass, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the Sous Chef in maintaining quality and portion control of baked goods.
- Creating fresh artisan breads, rolls, and other premium menu offerings for various dining outlets.
- Preparing items for display, which includes slicing breads, packaging, and labeling bakery products.
- Guaranteeing product availability for guests throughout the day by keeping display levels visually appealing.
- Rotating stock to ensure product freshness and documenting waste daily.
- Adhering to production schedules and prioritizing tasks to prepare items at appropriate times, ensuring adequate product levels.
- Monitoring the baking process to identify necessary adjustments and meet production goals.
- Handling ingredients, equipment, tools, and baking pans efficiently.
- Overseeing mixing and baking processes to ensure quality.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Culinary education is advantageous.
- A minimum of three to four years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
