We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Keck Medicine of USC. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will provide nursing staff support in patient care delivery, clerical functions, and organization of the unit environment.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Satisfaction: Respond to patient calls promptly, anticipate patient needs, and maintain a positive demeanor during interactions.
- Essential Skills: Perform vital signs, daily weight, I & O, hygiene, and other essential skills as directed by the RN.
- Safety: Ensure a safe physical environment, operate patient-care equipment safely, and maintain a clutter-free workspace.
- Documentation: Accurately document all care provided, including vital signs, intake and output, and patient care.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, visitors, and healthcare team members, and report significant changes in patient condition to the RN.
- Regulatory Agency Compliance: Ensure the unit is in continuous survey readiness, maintain confidentiality of patient records, and adhere to regulatory agency requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Specialized/technical training in a Certified Nursing Program
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
