Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Medical Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at US Oncology, Inc. This is a full-time position with no weekends, call, or major holidays.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have experience in oncology and infusion, with strong clinical skills and excellent patient care abilities. As a Medical Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to patients with various types of cancer.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
  • Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
  • Administer all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time, and technique.
  • Facilitate dose modification by assessing patient, assessing labs, consulting protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting physician regarding dosage modifications, problems, and symptom management.
  • Perform venipuncture, accesses implanted ports, and maintains central lines catheter devices.

Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 0-3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology/infusion.

Compensation and Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability coverage, a generous PTO program, a 401(k) plan with company match, a wellness program that rewards healthy lifestyle practices, tuition reimbursement, an employee assistance program, and discounts on popular retailers.
