Overview

Texas Oncology, the largest community oncology provider in the country, is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Associate to support our Tyler location. This full-time position involves working Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5pm, without weekends, call, or major holidays.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Collecting and processing patient specimens according to established procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation, including accessioning logs, test report logs, quality control logs, equipment records, and checklists.
  • Performing routine laboratory tests, such as chemistry, hematology, and immunology analyses.
  • Ensuring adequate inventory levels of supplies and maintaining equipment in good working order.
  • Preparing patients for testing, including taking vital signs.
  • Assisting with testing procedures and sending specimens to reference laboratories when necessary.
  • Charting patient results in a timely manner and updating daily paperwork and lab logs.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • No prior laboratory experience necessary, but preference given to candidates with relevant background.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
