Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Officer to join our team at Colonial Downs + Rosie's Gaming Emporium. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, fostering a supportive team environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Guest Service: Provide next-level service to internal and external guests, demonstrating our company culture in all interactions.
  • Team Support: Foster an environment of support and motivation for Team Members, promoting a positive and productive work atmosphere.
  • Operations: Ensure the smooth operation of the department by following prescribed policies and procedures, adhering to our responsible gaming plan, and enforcing internal control policies.
  • Reporting: Write clear and concise reports, noting only information based on facts, without interjection of personal opinion.
  • Incident Response: Respond to non-routine incidents, taking appropriate actions and making proper notifications.
  • Currency Transport: Perform currency transports in accordance with gaming procedures.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Communication: Communicate with other security personnel via two-way radios, using established protocols.
  • Customer Complaints: Ensure quick, fair, and consistent results to customer complaints.
  • Property Assets: Safeguard property assets and ensure their integrity.
  • First Aid: Respond to First Aid situations, administering CPR as needed.
  • Anti-Money Laundering: Adhere to all aspects of our Anti-Money Laundering Program and its regulations.
  • Confidentiality: Handle confidential information, reports, incidents, and materials with discretion.
  • Department Communication: Share information with Team Members, ensuring effective communication within the department.
  • Senior Management: Inform security senior management team of information necessary for efficient business operation.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolve problems within the scope of authority and recommend courses of action for problems beyond the scope of authority.
Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities
  • Training: Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
  • Licensing: Obtain and retain required licenses.
  • Compliance: Perform duties in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Minor Protection: Ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Knowledge: Have knowledge of ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member's department.
  • Problem Gaming: Have knowledge of the Property's programs to address problem gaming.
  • Reporting Wrongdoing: Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.
Position Qualifications

We require a High school diploma or GED equivalent. Formal security or law enforcement training, schooling, or certification is required; related on-the-job experience may be considered in lieu of formal training. Other combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered. The ability to formulate and communicate ideas is essential. The ability to work in an environment exposed to secondhand smoke, moderate to loud noise levels, and varied light levels, including flashing lights, is also required.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

A Virginia Racing Commission License is required.
