Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Digital Systems Engineer to support the modernization of space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, and providing range capabilities. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, systems modeling, product lifecycle management, and model-based systems engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Thought Leadership and Systems Engineering Application: Leverage extensive systems engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE) experience to lead digital engineering support provided to the customer.
  • Program Level Systems Engineering Policies and Procedures: Oversee the definition and documentation of program-level systems engineering policies, procedures, guidance, and best practices regarding the use of modeling languages and frameworks.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering Approach: Develop an organized, repeatable systems engineering approach that enables architectural elements usage with a model and sharing between model development projects.
  • MBSE Model Development and Execution: Lead the program in the development and execution of model-based systems engineering models.
  • Systems Engineering Lessons Learned: Work with enterprise systems engineering and other programs to gather, document, and share systems engineering lessons learned throughout the program.
  • Future Space Capability Needs: Work across multiple organizations to identify and define future space capability needs.
  • Stakeholder Interaction: Frequent interaction with government, SETA, FFRDC, external stakeholders, and development contractors.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage personnel charged with the following activities:
    • Plan MBSE model development in support of systems engineering objectives and program milestones.
    • Support efforts involving MBSE tools and procedures.
    • Generate products using MBSE tools to support reviews and analysis.
    • Prepare briefings for senior decision makers.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline.
  • Experience: Exposure with digital engineering tools and procedures, experience in modeling tools (Cameo) and modeling frameworks (UAF, DoDAF, MODAF) and languages (SysML, UML, MOF), knowledge of systems engineering documentation, and ability to provide technical and programmatic direction on the development, integration, and use of model-based engineering and model-based systems engineering models.
  • Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain.
