Job Summary

SAIC is seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to support the modernization of space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, and providing range capabilities. The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional team, providing system-level engineering support and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide preliminary solutions to engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Identify and apply current and emerging Digital Engineering practices, methods, and tools to address sponsor and partner challenges.
  • Apply knowledge and principles of agile acquisition, architecture design, system integration, risk assessment/management, and other systems engineering disciplines to support recommendations.
  • Employ rapid prototyping and technical recommendations to inform sponsor and partner capability requirements and decisions.
  • Collaborate with platform partners to contribute to greater practice of MBSE and DE across the enterprise.
  • Author and maintain technical documentation, such as Requirements Specifications, Concepts of Operation, Product and Performance Specifications, Interface Control Documents, Compliance Matrices, Qualification Test Plans, Procedures, and Reports.
  • Develop and document engineering processes and standards in support of customer requirements.

Requirements

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

Required Experience:

  • Familiarity with team and administrative collaboration and analysis tools such as Microsoft SharePoint, Excel, Access, and Project.
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) including generating, analyzing, and maintaining a digital model.

Clearance

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance.

Target Salary Range

$120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.

Covid Policy

SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
