Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 10-13 AmeriCorps tutors in providing reading interventions to students in grades K-3.
  • Manage and provide individualized coaching to each tutor, ensuring they have the necessary skills and support to provide high-quality instruction.
  • Collaborate with school-appointed liaisons to build tutoring schedules and student caseloads, ensuring a smooth and successful tutoring launch.
  • Observe and coach tutors regularly, providing feedback and guidance to support their growth and development.
  • Meet with school-appointed liaisons weekly to review data, progress monitor student caseloads, and adjust tutoring as needed.
  • Plan and lead training sessions, team-building activities, and other initiatives to support the AmeriCorps tutor cohort.
  • Support the recruitment and interviewing of tutor candidates for the upcoming year.
  • Assist with grant reporting, compliance with AmeriCorps policies, and other organizational initiatives.
Requirements
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills, with experience in education or a related field.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with school partners, AmeriCorps tutors, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse groups.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform tutoring decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
