Job Summary

AVANGRID is seeking a skilled Lineworker Apprentice to join our team. As a Lineworker Apprentice, you will be responsible for performing various tasks related to transmission and distribution pole line work, including climbing poles, installing poles, cross-arms, transformers, cutouts, lightning arresters, wire and cable, and other materials related to line construction.

Responsibilities
  • Safely perform all types of transmission and distribution pole line work, including climbing poles and installing equipment.
  • Work on energized lines and equipment in accordance with Company regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain records as required and perform other assigned tasks.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an approved vocational school, institute, or college with acceptable grades majoring in electrical and line worker training or have previous experience in line work.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to obtain a Class A Driver's License prior to becoming a 3/C Lineworker.
  • Must be able to practice Company safety policies and procedures and be capable of performing all essential functions of the classification.
  • Must successfully complete ongoing annual skill assessments and be available for job site reporting within CMP service territory.
