Position Overview

Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) Academy is a prominent entity in K–12 advanced education, dedicated to nurturing the next generation of exceptional problem solvers. Our mission is to inspire and train students through innovative learning methods, including in-person academies and online platforms.

We are seeking a part-time Front Desk Associate to serve at our campus. In this role, you will be the welcoming presence for students and their families, handling inquiries via phone and email, and ensuring a friendly atmosphere during class sessions. Your contributions will also extend to supporting campus operations, including inventory management and maintaining a tidy environment.

This position is in-person and part-time, with hours primarily on weekday afternoons/evenings and weekends, along with potential daytime shifts during the summer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the campus receptionist; manage phone calls, respond to messages, and relay pertinent information to staff.
  • Handle customer inquiries through various communication channels.
  • Maintain schedules, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings.
  • Utilize internal systems for generating reports and managing data.
  • Assist with admissions processes, including scheduling and follow-ups.
  • Organize classroom and office supplies as needed.
  • Supervise students during transition periods between classes.
  • Perform light cleaning and ensure the front desk area is well-organized.
  • Engage in outreach activities as required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in customer interaction, particularly with families and students.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in computer applications.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Flexibility to address challenges effectively.
  • Background in administrative or customer service roles.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Passion for motivating high-achieving students.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
