Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Supervisor to join our team at Performance Food Group. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Management: Schedule and coordinate transportation operations to ensure timely delivery of goods, including managing driver schedules, routes, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Driver Supervision: Supervise and train a team of drivers, including staffing, training, coaching, performance management, and problem resolution.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including monitoring driver logs, expense reports, and vehicle safety.
  • Logistics Coordination: Assist in scheduling, ensuring deliveries and pickups are made in a timely manner, and coordinating with other departments to optimize transportation efficiency.
  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure drivers fulfill duties safely by monitoring vehicle safety, safe usage of ramps and handcarts, seat and weight belt use, and safe lifting and product-handling practices.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist in calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip logs and expense reports, and ensuring accurate completion of all delivery and driver-related paperwork.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 2-4 years transportation or related experience, including knowledge of DOT and safety regulations, and experience in operation of computerized fleet management systems
  • Leadership Experience: 1+ years of experience leading and supervising a team of 10-15 drivers
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field
  • Experience: 4-6 years transportation management or supervisor experience within the foodservice industry
  • Certifications: Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and experience driving commercial vehicles
