Job Responsibilities:
  • Layout and check the work of apprentices, if assigned.
  • Perform routine maintenance on boilers and associated equipment, and piping systems, burners, and HVAC units.
  • Install various projects and identify and correct problems in the areas of Plumbing, Boilers and Piping systems.
  • Modify and install systems that meet or exceed current codes and customer needs.
  • Perform preventative checks on equipment and promote efficiency.
  • Communicate with customers, General Contractors and/or owners to ensure that jobs and tasks are completed correctly and in a timely manner and to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Assist in instructing apprentices about proper installation of various products and systems and current code regulations.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and evaluating the work of apprentices if assigned.
  • Required to understand all company policies and assist in enforcing such policies among apprentices.
  • Must take a proactive stance on safety and report any concerns or violations immediately to the General Manager or Safety Manager.
  • Ensure that instructions and information are related in a constructive and diplomatic manner and that all safety information, warnings and signs are understood and communicated to reporting personnel.
  • If certified in heating, air conditioning and ventilation, must keep certifications up to date and provide Human Resources with copies of all licenses and certifications.
  • Be on time and alert for assigned shift and work entire shift as scheduled.
  • Project division personnel must show up and respond to project requests in a timely manner through the direction of the Installation Coordinator or Salesperson.
  • Notify supervisor of any situations or problems that would result in delays or work not being completed as expected.
  • May work occasionally with stressed and upset customers. You are required to treat all customers with respect and concern. If at any time you feel you cannot assist them in a timely manner or answer their questions completely, you must get the assistance of your supervisor.
  • Responsible for keeping work vehicles cleaned inside and restocked. Works with supervisor to make order lists for parts and materials needed each workday.
  • Prepare paperwork accurately and submit in a timely manner which includes job progress information, timecards, materials requisition sheets, return to stock forms, and other information required for the job. Must train all reporting personnel how to properly fill out paperwork as well.
  • Must assist foreman in evaluating job sites regularly and report to the Project Manager or the General Manager of any person, equipment or situation that poses a health and safety hazard. Assists in informing all personnel on the job site of safety problems and report to the General Manager or Project Manager about the progress in correcting the problem.
Job Requirements:
  • Pass a drug test and background check.
  • Must understand English in a competent manner in order to clearly communicate questions, instructions or safety concerns to coworkers, supervisor, and those they supervise.
  • A valid driver's license and clean MVR.
  • Ability to perform multiple technical tasks to include operating equipment, adhering to safety practices, and planning/managing projects.
  • Sound knowledge of water, heating, and ventilation systems.
  • Work strategies and schematics.
  • Local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
  • Physical fitness and the ability to work in various conditions, including tight spaces and at heights.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends.
  • Must be able to commute to our Wheat Ridge location.
