As a Plumbing Installation Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Performing all plumbing repairs and replacements to code
- Checking slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers
- Covering pipes with earth or other materials
- Connecting pipe pieces and sealing joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue
- Installing or repairing sanitary or storm water sewer structures or pipe systems
- Installing or using instruments such as lasers, grade rods, or transit levels
- Grading or leveling trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools
- Laying out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors
- Aligning and positioning pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing
- Digging trenches to desired or required depths, by hand or using trenching tools
- Operating mechanized equipment, such as pickup trucks, rollers, tandem dump trucks, front-end loaders, or backhoes
- Locating existing pipes needing repair or replacement, using magnetic or radio indicators
- Tapping and drilling holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices
Salary: $18 - $35 per hour
