Job Summary
As a Security Services Representative with Auburn University, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Your responsibilities will include monitoring cameras, patrolling and examining buildings and grounds, and reporting any irregularities or emergency conditions to the appropriate authorities.
About Temporary Employment Services (TES)
TES is an in-house support center that provides temporary employment opportunities to meet the staffing needs of the university. Our temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons, including assistance in the place of a regular employee, additional support during peak workloads, and special projects.
Essential Functions
- Patrol and maintain a constant watch of assigned areas, reporting any suspicious activities or emergency conditions to the supervisor or emergency response team.
- Secure buildings and facilities, ensuring that unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas.
- Monitor CCTV cameras for criminal activities, assess control alarms, and ensure that all CCTV cameras and monitoring systems are operational.
- Provide assistance for visual coverage or investigation for emergency personnel, bookmarking and archiving important footage for future use.
- Operate the night security shuttles to provide safe and reliable transportation for students to and from locations throughout campus.
- Dispatch security shuttles and security monitors using tools such as two-way radios, multi-line phones, GPS systems, and dispatch logs.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and must pass the state driving exam to operate a state vehicle.
