Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mainframe Systems Analyst to join our team at Saxon Global. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mainframe development, with expertise in Cobol and DB2.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide system analysis, design, development, and implementation of data services for Web-based systems.
  • Integrate third-party products as needed.
  • Translate technical specifications into code for new or enhancement projects.
  • Develop code that reuses subroutines or objects, is well-structured, and easy to maintain.
  • Write programs, ad hoc queries, and reports.
  • Elevate code into the development, test, and Production environments on schedule.
  • Provide follow-up Production support when needed.
  • Participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated track record of strong database analysis, data access design, and implementation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in COBOL and DB2, including Structured Query Language (SQL), Embedded SQL, Stored Procedure development, and DB2 Batch Programming.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding and knowledge of DB2 relational database and its constructs.
  • Working knowledge of DB2 associated tools, including BMC, Omegamon, JCL, ISPF/TSO, and Performance tuning.
  • Knowledge and experience with MQ Series.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years developer or systems analyst experience.
  • Strong, demonstrated analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
